today, as I was walking along, I got pulled off the street to be an audience member for this channel four tv show they are filming. it’s for sure going to end up being some bad tele [think documentary/reality tv show based on parents who are out of their minds cause their darling little children won’t sleep through the night ever, haven’t since they came into this world, and two ‘sleep professionals’ have a wager to see who’s method works better to get these darling children to sleep. I got to play the part of an interested parent - ha.] but, besides being a random couple hours in my day, it was ::

[1] being filmed in a super cool building - an old hydraulic plant turned restaurant/arts exhibition/performance space; they still have loads of the original hydraulic equipment and machinery there, which I was caught staring at of course. see thewappingproject.com

[2] neat being on a real film set and watching how it all comes together behind the scenes, the takes and the different camera shots and angles they need to get and all the different roles that people play on a set - director, producers, researchers, interviewer, runner… and the technical crew handling the cameras and sound and lighting. watching the whole production is what made it interesting for me to sit there pretending like I cared about the sleep habits of babies…
